Abstract. This poster presents a new method for physical structure recognition of table-form documents. The method is based on binary mathematical morphology with decomposition of structuring elements. Unlike other reported techniques, where the processing time is often ignored, the new approach considers the use of bit blocks for run-time speed up. The results show that the proposed approach improves system performance, in terms of processing time.
