Title: The Schottky Problem and secants of the Kummer variety.

Abstract: To every smooth projective curve we can associate a principally polarized abelian 
variety called the Jacobian variety of the curve. The Schottky Problem is the problem of determining 
when a principally polarized abelian variety is the Jacobian variety of some curve. During this talk 
we will explore this problem and go into detail about one of the beautiful geometric solutions to it 
that has emerged.
