Speaker: Haohua Deng Date: 10:30 22/09/2023 Title: Space of nilpotent orbits and extension of period mappings Abstract: In this talk we will review Kato-Nakayama-Usui's completion of period mappings using logarithmic Hodge theory, which re-interpretates and generalizes Schmid's nilpotent orbit theorem and Mumford's Toroidal compactification. In particular, some important non-classical examples where KNU's theory finds applications have been obtained by the author's recent works joint with Colleen Robles.
