Conference IMPA 70 years

IMPA, Rio de Janeiro, October 17 – 21, 2022

October 2022 marks the 70th anniversary of IMPA’s foundation. Over those seven decades, the institute established itself as an international center of excellence in mathematical research, with a strong impact in all of Latin America, namely through its track record in the training of young researchers from the region and other parts of the world. IMPA’s wide range activities go much beyond, encompassing the publication of books and other educational materials, the training of school teachers, the technological collaboration with the Brazilian industry, the organization of nationwide school olympiads, and the active popularization of mathematics.

To mark the occasion, we are holding an international conference which will take place at IMPA’s headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, from October 17 to 21, 2022. The conference will feature the participation of about 100 international mathematicians, including Fields Medalists.
